Lviv 2007

In 2007 from July 20 to July 29 “History Takes Pace” was a guest of the West Ukrainian metropolis Lviv.
There is hardly another place in Europe like Lviv that conserves in such an exemplary manner the structural shape of an East Central European city of the 19th and 20th century. Moreover, it stands as an example for ethnic and denominational plurality at the Eastern centre of Europe as well as for the population exchange and the industrial structuring of an administrative city.
The present Lviv is at the same time heart and head of a West Ukrainian cultural entity.
The academic director of the Summer School was the historian Dr. Christoph Mick (University of Warwick).
