The Summer School in Warsaw addresses young historians and cultural scientists (primarily Ph.D. students).
Conditions for an application are knowledge of the modern history of Poland and an interest in the historical phenomenon „City“. Participants do not necessarily need to work on Warsaw, but above all they should bring along an interest, thematically and methodically, in new ways of accessing historical material and in evaluating atypical sources. Languages of the meeting are Polish, German and English. The ability to read two languages is a condition for the application, knowledge in all three languages is an advantage. A detailed preparation on the basis of the course material and our reading recommendations as well as giving a presentation is expected. The respective interests of research and competences will be considered hereby.
